Hello
I'm Jamie,
nice to meet you
My career
What I've been doing recently
I've been helping ambitious product leaders to navigate the complex world of innovation, design, and transformation. Pushing them to think beyond the boring to deliver thoughtful experiences that delight customers and drive business growth.
Understand
Behaviour design
I focus on behavioral design to understand people on a deeper level and create real impact. I use this to leverage patterns and triggers in human behaviour to motivate customers and get them engaging with your products.
Improve
Design operations
As companies mature and invest in innovation, I help them to define workflows, hiring processes, alignment between teams, and flexible frameworks to enable design thinking and people to prosper throughout the organisation.
Enhance
Product strategy
I firmly believe that customer centricity should stay at the heart of a product strategy. This is done by preventing the ‘business as usual’ mindset from hijacking the transition from human needs to expected business goals.
Interests
Outside of work
Come say hello
Mentoring designers
As part of my passion for the industry, I have naturally found myself supporting designers of all levels throughout their careers. I have a small design community called Fillament which has been running for the past 10 years and now I help out on ADPList.
Where to next
Experiencing cultures
Being lost with nowhere to go is one of my favorite past times, just take a quick look at my Instagram and you'll see my love for traveling and experiencing new cultures. My wife and I have visited the majority of European hot spots as well as a large chunk of Canada and the United States. We're extremely privileged and lucky to have had these opportunities but they've been such a key component in shaping our outlook on life, people, and our place in the world.
Pump up the jam
Producing music
If I'm not working I'm usually making music… badly. I studied music at school and played a bit of piano but during lockdown, I found it a great form of escapism and to create some moments of joy. Now I spend way too much money on fancy guitars that I cannot play but thoroughly enjoy making some new sounds and producing a few tracks all for the fun of it and creative outlet.
On the ones and twos
Attempting to run
I've never been a good runner but nothing can beat that feeling mid-way through a long run on a good summer day. I'm one of the oddballs that run with no headphones, taking in the sights and sounds around. It's a needed change from working at a screen all day!
